Director of Business Development & Marketing Communication

About the role:

This entrepreneurial role is based at our headquarters located in NYC. This role is responsible for leading the Business Development and Marketing Communications efforts in our fast paced, high growth environment.  These responsibilities include rationalizing and developing business development strategies, cultivating and managing customer relationships, setting out and executing relevant MarCom initiatives, and delivering growth results as defined by our business plans. With excellent leadership skills, you are essential in developing the Bus Dev. Team and driving effective relationships, up to and including our Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Propose and contribute to development of wireless/Wi-Fi/fiber/digital business development strategies/plans
  • Leading Bus Dev. teams across existing carrier customers and venue owners to cultivate and pursue DAS applications, fiber connectivity applications, and Wi-Fi applications to broaden revenue streams.
  • Cultivate and manage key customer relationships including wireless carriers, fiber enterprises/sales channels, Wi-Fi sponsors or advertising agency relationships, potential Wi-Fi wholesale partnerships (MSPs), relevant Government agencies.
  • Manage the daily execution, operations, and development of our Bus Dev. and Marketing Communication teams to optimize results per business plan.
  • Maintain and grow pipeline of digital and mobile advertising and marketing contacts to close revenue agreements.
  • Maintain and regularly communicate account development via Oracle CRM tool, as well as communicating pipeline of sales activities and opportunities to secure continuity for product development, resource planning throughout the company.
  • Execute high level sales meetings and/or value add workshops with new and existing customers to effectively update expected opportunities, align our value proposition, and drive focused development of new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with Account Managers and Network Operations to generate accurate placement and tracking of digital media on the Transit Wireless Wi-Fi network.
  • Coordinate customer reporting/deliverables between Bus Dev. team, MarCom team, and Network Operations team to influence/optimize network performance reporting, user reporting, and data management capabilities for revenue optimization.
  • Attend relevant trade shows to promote TW brand, deliver industry presentations, participate in industry forums, support market facing leadership.
  • Responsible for development of Bus Dev. and MarCom budgets, optimizing management of expenditures thereof.
  • Leverage opportunities through excellent government agency public-private-partnership (PPP) relationships, as a cornerstone of the company’s success to date.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Ten or more years of business development experience with top tier national wireless carriers, system integrators, or similar experiences selling DAS, Wi-Fi, Fiber or other related connectivity solutions
  • Preference for Wi-Fi and/or Digital Bus Dev. experiences
  • Proven sales results driven background, with solid ability to contribute to our strategic direction
  • Strong customer relationship skills, creative, driven, and self-motivated, with ability to develop, expand, and lead the team independently
  • Skilled negotiator including the ability to resolve issues independently
  • Excellent closing skills with the innate ability to overcome objections and obstacles throughout the sales process
  • Strong oral, written communication skills, and presentation abilities
  • Ability to travel on occasion

Senior Marketing Communications Manager

About the role:

The position is responsible for providing professional marketing expertise, brand management and ongoing consultation for the consistent implementation and growth of Transit Wireless.This encompasses internal and external activities including events, conferences, sales collateral, merchandise, signage and communications. The position will devise, implement and maintain a marketing and communications strategy centered on nurturing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that Transit Wireless is well positioned in the market.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Function and Marketing team.
  • Ensure the effective internal dissemination of company news, announcements, marketing event calendars and other communications within the business.
  • Liaise between internal customers and external marketing agencies in the design of product brochures and other promotional material.
  • Liaise with commercial managers to produce promotional material relating to the businesses specialized services or products.
  • Identify opportunities to work with key industry groups. Coordinate organisational involvement in industry conferences and external events.
  • Plan, organized, execute and manage events including tradeshows, customer and partner events, industry events and other corporate events.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team by preparing presentations and speeches for clients, the Board of Directors and industry events.
  • Production of internal publications.
  • Develop and manage multi-million dollar budgets for marketing activities. Manage initiatives to budget and monitor and report on results.
  • Manage the successful delivery of the brand project for Transit Wireless, through to the development of (and then ongoing maintenance of) the brand identity. This includes all internal and external communications channels.
  • Responsible for developing and driving a marketing and communications plan.
  • Support advocacy and industry engagement – assist to devise strategies, identify opportunities and develop associated communications to nurture relationships with customers, potential customers and other key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for building relationships with major media sources to raise the profile of Transit Wireless.
  • Responsible for the development of a PR strategy.
  • Engage and manage the appointment of third party suppliers including; PR agencies, website developers, marketing agencies, graphic designers and merchandise suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external key stakeholders including customers and key suppliers.
  • Utilize strong quantitative methods to gather and analyze competitor, customer and market trend information and opportunities.
  • Work with business development team to devise and implement strategies to promote brand awareness.
  • Enforce the correct use of the Transit Wireless brand in conjunction with brand standards documentation.
  • Work as a key member of bid teams to deliver marketing, branding and communications assistance pre, during and post submission. Devise strategies to assist in the promotion of Transit Wireless prior to release of bid to market; managing the communications strategy throughout the entire period of the project.
  • Manage company website and online communications strategy. Work to drive website traffic and maintain online profile of business including social media. Knowledge of website management desirable.
  • Plan and manage the social media strategy.
  • Oversee the design and production of all collateral (both in-house and outsourced design).
  • Identify and negotiate key opportunities for sponsorship. Manage sponsorship to leverage maximum promotion opportunity.
  • Constantly explore, recommend, use and optimize communication methods, vehicles and technologies to engage with various audiences.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Management
  • Significant experience in Senior Marketing Communications Management roles as well as experience of managing Marketing functions and budgets.
  • Industry experience in the Technology or Digital space would be highly desirable. As would working in start-up or entrepreneurial style businesses.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to interact with all levels, including senior executives and the media
  • A creative thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop relationships and influence key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced role
  • Ability to manage outsourced agency partners and suppliers
  • Strong management and leadership experience of small teams.
