Melinda White is CEO of Transit Wireless – industry leading designers, builders, and operators of 5G communications infrastructure to connect people, improve communities and advance economies. She has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in the wireless and telecommunications industry, including 5G, Smart Networks, public-private partnerships, and network edge strategy.
At Transit Wireless, Melinda is a hands-on CEO, driving revenue from Transit Wireless’s fiber network, and providing industry leading “Smart Transit” and 5G neutral host services to mobile network operators and transit authorities around the country.
Previously, Melinda served as CEO of Black Walnut Ventures; President, West Region, of Frontier Communications; and held senior leadership roles at Wink Communications, Cox Communications and Cellular One.
Melinda is an evangelist for the power of Public-Private Partnerships to connect the unconnected and transform cities around the nation into “Connected Communities.” She currently serves on the board of Resonance A.I. and on Harvard Kennedy School’s Women’s Leadership Board. She earned an M.B.A. from Tulane University and a B.B.A. from Texas’ Howard Payne University.
Jeff Garte serves as the CFO of Transit Wireless, responsible for all aspects of finance and IT.
Jeff joined Transit Wireless with over twenty years of financial and operational experience in public and private companies with domestic and international operations. He brings a focus on connecting operational actions with financial results to drive strategic outcomes.
Prior to joining Transit Wireless, Jeff was CFO of Globecomm. He has also held various senior financial roles at Hibernia Networks, AboveNet Communications and CSC ServiceWorks. He began his career in the investment banking divisions at Evercore and UBS.
Jeff holds an undergraduate degree from Hamilton College and an MBA from Columbia University.
Julia serves as General Counsel for Transit Wireless, bringing over 30 years of experience leading legal, compliance and regulatory teams.
Most recently, Julia was the founding partner of Law Offices of Julia Hanft, a private law firm providing business legal solutions for small and medium enterprise companies. Prior to founding her private practice, Julia served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for Globecomm Systems Inc., a leading provider of complex communications solutions for commercial and government customers throughout the world. There, she was responsible for the company’s contracts and legal matters, procurement, quality, trade compliance, and information security across all subsidiaries, both domestic and international.
Her previous experience includes as a contracts manager for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, where she managed the contract activities for multi-billion-dollar contracts and proposals with government agencies in Italy, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
Julia holds a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law (magna cum laude) and a B.S. in Business and Management from University of Redlands (with Distinction), and is admitted to practice law in both New York and Georgia.
Kamesh serves as the Vice President of Finance and Business Operations at Transit Wireless and brings over 20 years of experience leading strategic and operational plan activities, M&A valuation and decision support analysis, process improvement, and technology teams.
Prior to joining Transit Wireless, Kamesh was a product line CFO for Workforce Management and NextGen Payroll platform at ADP. He has held various senior financial roles supporting ADP Strategy, ADP Small Business Services, Merck Mergers & Acquisitions, Merck Research Pipeline, Merck FP&A and Avaya Operations. He began his career as a numerical analysis engineer at Ansoft Corporation (now Ansys), developing Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software packages.
Kamesh holds an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University, an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (India), and a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Nadia serves as the Vice President of Transit Strategy and Sales at Transit Wireless and brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in wireless and adjacent technology industries, including business development, sales management, marketing, and strategy at both Fortune 500 firms and early-stage start-ups.
Nadia is responsible for leading strategy and sales of Transit Wireless’ innovative neutral host services and fiber network offerings to transit agencies and commercial enterprises.
Most recently, Nadia served as the VP of Business Development and Partnerships at FDH Infrastructure Services. Her previous experience includes leadership positions at disruptive technology firms in mobile satellite services, mobile device software, and smart mobility. She spent 10 years in sales management, custom network solutions, and public safety strategy at pioneering wireless carrier Nextel Communications (now T-Mobile).
Nadia is an active mentor for women in early career and a passionate advocate for women in leadership. She holds a B.A. from Georgetown University and is a member of Chief in the Women in Wireless Leadership Forum and serves as board lead for the NYC chapter of UPWARD Women.
Robert serves as the Vice President of Strategic Account Management and Growth and is focused on managing and growing relationships with Transit Wireless’ largest strategic customers.
Robert joined Transit Wireless with over twenty-five years of B2B/Enterprise Telecommunications experience in Public Sector and Global Banking & Financial Services markets. His knowledge and insight drawn from leadership roles in Engineering, Operations, Commercial & Bid Management, and Sales & Business Development enhances our ability to navigate some of the largest and more complex projects in our industry.
Prior to joining Transit Wireless, Robert held positions at BT, Samsung, Vodafone, and Virgin Media.
Robert holds a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Law & Business Administration.
Vice President and Chief of Staff, Engineering & Operations
Joe serves as the Vice President and Chief of Staff of Engineering and Operations at Transit Wireless and is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operations in delivery of high performing networks. Joe brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in the telecommunications industry, across multiple cellular technologies, public safety, wireline, and core networks.
Previously, Joe held executive roles at Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent and has led multiple business lines and R&D Engineering organizations. He has global leadership experience and has worked in India, China, Poland, France, Netherlands, Finland, and Canada. Joe has authored two best practices books on Design for Manufacturability and has instructed hundreds of engineers.
Joe’s area of expertise is in telecommunications, wireless and wireline networks, program management, business management, R&D, and supply chain.
He holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern University and an M.S. and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
