Meet Diana K., a key member of our Network Operations team! Fulfilling her role as a NOC Technician, Diana has been with Transit Wireless for nearly three years and brings a vast amount of industry experience, a great eye for detail, and a variety of skills.  

• Could you please share a little about yourself, such as your favorite hobbies, your industry experience and background, and anything else you’d like to include? 

I am originally from Albania and came to New York nine years ago. I have a great passion for technology, and it’s why I chose to study Engineering, Telecommunication, and Information Technology. In today’s world, the interaction between different technologies is at certain levels, and for you to be successful in the field, you must have a good understanding of them. Working in Information Technology requires a high level of commitment and has been of interest to me. As for my hobbies, traveling is an activity I have always enjoyed. I look forward to visiting my country and experiencing new places. Socializing and spending time with family and friends, while celebrating our traditions, is also an activity I enjoy.   

• Can you explain your role at Transit Wireless and how long you have been working here?

My current position at Transit Wireless is NOC Technician and I joined the company about three years ago. I know the importance of working in an environment where the results of your work will impact the lives of many New Yorkers. This is one of the reasons why I was so pleased to join the company.  

• Why did you want to work at Transit Wireless?

It is a fast-paced environment, that’s very challenging, and affords a great opportunity for learning and building new skills. Personally, I enjoy being challenged and it makes the work even livelier. You never stop learning, not only with advanced technology, but also in building relationships with colleagues. Transit Wireless gave me the opportunity to meet people with different areas of expertise.    

• What makes it such a special place to work? 

Being part of a great team is what makes Transit Wireless a special place to work. You are surrounded by colleagues that are always ready to help you and build each other’s skills as a team. You feel that you are always supported.  

• What keeps you excited and motivated to come to work each day? 

I enjoy problem-solving and facing new challenges. In the NOC environment, new challenges are never lacking. Being able to lead whenever needed, while multi-tasking never becomes monotone.   

• What projects are you excited to work on? 

The main project that I am looking forward to taking part in is the Transit Wireless Network Expansion of the MTA’s New York City subway and Staten Island Railway. Specifically, the Above-Ground expansion of Wi-Fi in stations and cellular data connectivity in the MTA’s New York City subway tunnels. With the supportive environment we work in, it allows us to enhance and improve our skills, giving us new opportunities and projects, like the MTA expansion.
