Transit Wireless designs, installs and maintains critical communication services for government, first responders and safety authorities.

In New York City, the Transit Wireless network has safety and security at the forefront. It is the foundation for critical subway public safety communications systems, which include Help Point intercoms, a 4.9 GHz public safety network, and the ability to dial 9-1-1 from a cellphone in an emergency.

Private public safety network

Transit Wireless created a secure, private public safety network for the New York City Transit Authority (NYCT) that operates in the 4.9 GHz spectrum via a MESH Wi-Fi network. This highly resilient, super-fast network connects within each subway station and back to our Base Station Hotels.

Security networks

Public safety is critical within the subway environment, and we build and design systems with the capacity and scalability to support numerous current and future vital public safety initiatives:

  • Help Point kiosks that make both transit information and emergency services available
  • Opportunities to connect closed circuit television (CCTV) and security cameras
  • Upcoming first responder communications networks via 700 MHz FirstNet LTE
