Transit Wireless, a leading 5G neutral host fiber infrastructure company, continues its partnership with the NYC Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), the nation’s largest youth internship program. SYEP connects a diverse group of students across all five NYC boroughs with internships. The internship program is facilitated in part through Tech:NYC, an engaged network of tech leaders working to foster a dynamic, diverse, and creative New York.
“We are excited to partner with nonprofits from across the NYC community to deliver an impactful virtual experience for students across all five boroughs.,” said Louise Butler-Golding, Senior Vice President of People and Business Operations. “This experience provides interns with exposure to the tech industry, mentoring, and on-the-job training as they begin to explore and build their careers.”
Focused on rising high school juniors and seniors, 15-20 students will work with Transit Wireless on a specific company project over a six-week period. The SYEP program focus includes:
- Career Exploration: Allows students to discover new career possibilities.
- Skill-Building: Students will receive help with resumes, cover letters, and interview skills, as well as learn essential job readiness skills and workplace etiquette.
- Connections to Professionals: The program will help students build their network through mentoring, career panels, social media workshops, and more.
- Community Building: Students will learn valuable skills to become active citizens at work and in their community.
The program will run from the week of July 19th to August 27th. To learn more about the NYC Summer Youth Employment Program, visit here.
