NEW YORK, NY (October 10,2019) – Transit Wireless, a leading neutral host wireless infrastructure company, announced Jeremy Ward has been promoted to director of Engineering and Product, leading the company’s network infrastructure and product engineers. Ward joined Transit Wireless in 2016 and will report to Michael Hoyt, senior vice president of Networking Operations and Engineering.
“Jeremy will lead this team at an important time for Transit Wireless,” said Michael Hoyt. “He is a proven leader whose expertise will continue to help our partners as the industry prepares for the dawn of 5G.”
The Engineering and Product team serves to develop innovative approaches for cellular, Wi-Fi and IoT coverage in challenging urban environments like mass transit and onboard rail. The group is also responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of Transit Wireless’ carrier, metro, railway, IP network and neutral-host products and services.
Ward spent over 20 years as an engineer, entrepreneur and consultant to wireless carriers, enterprise, government and Internet Service Providers nationally. With a passion for connecting the unconnected, he joined Transit Wireless to focus on expanding connectivity to the 5.3M daily riders of the New York City subway system. Since then, Ward has improved existing network and developed new approaches to deliver connectivity to mass transit and rail systems.
As a pioneer of the fixed wireless broadband business, he deployed the first broadband Internet services to areas of Northern New England where there was a lack of access to traditional broadband services from incumbent telephone and cable companies.
