The company that brings New York City’s underground cellular and WiFi network to subway riders, is pleased to announce Jim Hintze as its new Vice President of Business Development. He joins the executive team after serving as Senior Vice President of Sales at FiberLight where he was responsible for driving the company’s portfolio of network infrastructure services’ growth. Jim brings over 25 years of sales and marketing leadership experience within the telecommunications industry.
“I’m excited to join Transit Wireless at such a dynamic time in the company’s growth,” says Jim. “I look forward to working with the transit authorities and wireless providers to expand our network to provide ubiquitous coverage throughout the subways and above ground train stations.”
In his role Hintze will leverage the significant fiber, data center, and cellular capabilities of Transit Wireless, and the company’s significant footprint of Wi-Fi access points to both optimize existing customer care and to expand into new businesses, including emerging IoT and Smart City applications.

Prior to FiberLight, Jim was Vice President of North American Sales and Global Channels at BTI Systems, where he focused on developing global alliances, direct sales and cloud infrastructure solutions with the world’s largest Web 2.0 data center. He also served as the SVP of Commercial and Government Sales at Frontier Communications. Jim began his career managing sales programs for AT&T Network Systems (now Nokia). Jim is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
