“The subway station wireless build-out is already a year ahead of schedule and we’re working to accelerate completion even further. To do that, we need to grow our team with the best and the brightest talent who want to help expand the availability of wireless, public safety and Wi-Fi services to New Yorkers on the go.” explained William Bayne, CEO of Transit Wireless. “We look forward to speaking with applicants about becoming part of this exciting communications technology and infrastructure project that is benefiting the millions of New Yorkers and visitors who rely on the MTA subway system.”
Suppliers and vendors interested in contracting with Transit Wireless are also invited to meet with members of the company’s procurement team at this event.
Transit Wireless has partnered with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to design, build, operate and finance a neutral-host wireless network infrastructure within the 278 underground stations of the New York City subway system. In November, the company launched Phase 4 of the project, bringing cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity to 37 stations in the Bronx and Manhattan. To date, 147 underground MTA stations in Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx have cellular and free Wi-Fi access.
